Got the seat boards made... going to try my own upholstery work. And the dash in place.

Trying something a little different for the top deck

Cut some 3/8” ply into strips and will glue them in place and then fill the gaps with thickened epoxy.

Being 3ply the top veneer is 1/8” thick... figured it would save some time and materials vs gluing a veneer on top of 1/4” ply

Good idea!
I have never seen plywood that has a veneer that thick. What kind of plywood is that?
At my local hardwood supplier they do have sapele plywood. Found out too late. Maybe on the next boat. :lol:

It’s arauco ply. ACx. Goes for about $30 at Lowe’s.

I believe it’s radiata pine. The a sided is sanded. The c side has some plugs but usually no voids, closer to a b grade then most brands. I’ve never found a void in the core.

Yeah we will be there weekends. And probably a week or two in august.
