Currently, my splash well is just epoxied and I was going to finish it bright, but I may paint it. Is there a primer and paint that is recommended for the job? I already have Interlux Pre-Kote and the 2-part Primekote for epoxy. Would one of those work with an appropriate paint? I think Brightsides would probably be OK here.

I'm ready to mount the motor and I suppose varnish in the splash well would be easiest to do in my garage. the deck and hull was sprayed in automotive clear coat by a pro. I have unopened cans of Interlux Perfection Plus that I could use. However, the weather is hot an humid and applying Perfection Plus will be a problem unless I do it in the middle of the night. Good thing it's the splash well and that will be full of hoses and cables

Varnish or Brightsides would work fine Jeff. Plus, you already have experience with both of them.

Thanks C, I think I'm going to varnish it. I like the wood, and as you said, I have a lot of practice with the varnish from the kayak. Plus all the cables and hoses will hide any runs or sags that may occur due to the oppressive heat and humidity.

I used the bottom paint for my splashwell, it was Supermarine red. It matches nicely and looks good.
