Hi all!,
Just thought I'd drop in and say hello, after another fun filled afternoon in the Squirt. The weather here today in Connecticut was very rainy and overcast. I just couldn't sit here and let the day go without a ride. Before I left for the lake, I took off the hydrofoil, and leaned the engine about a quarter turn. I've never run it without the hydrofoil. Well I'll say, the speed increased about 4-5 mph, and with the water completely calm, it felt like a ten fold increase in speed. I am having so much with this little boat!! This was her 6th journey out. I like to go over to the other side of the lake, which backs up to the state forest, and there are no houses or developement. Just idleing along watching the wildlife, or picking debris out of the water, is just a blast! I got my first "what year is it?", question today also. I've had many other boaters stop me whenever I'm out to ask many questions. I just can't think of another way to spend a couple of hours, on a Sunday cruising along, listining to Jimmy Buffett, or my beloved Grateful Dead on the satellite raido, with my favorite beverage, on one fantastic boat!!!

Did you get the RPM's down where they should be,and a better prop?

I don't like those foils,unless nothing else will help.

Yes I bought the 10x 14 ss prop, and have been using it, but the rpm's are not going down. I don't really hear an increase in the engine sound, but the tach is reading 6200 now. I wonder how accurate the tach is?? I am leaving the hydrofoil off from now on!

Yep,you might want to see if a shop can check the tach reading out against theirs.
