hi guys,

out on the boat nearly everyday, Im almost like a celebrity out there because of this boat. People simply cannot believe the boat is brand new. I thinking about what Im gonna do this winter to keep busy.................and I have to say, I really like the looks of Glen-L's "Islander", a classically styled cruiser, check it out. http://www.glen-l.com/designs/cruiser/dsn-islla.html I recently purchased the study plans and Im eagerly awaiting there arrival. I also bought the trailer plans for the FS I'll let you know how the trailer comes out.

I have to put a windsheild on the boat, and was trying to find out where to get parts for the windsheild like vupilot has on his boat. Can anyone point me in the right direction......Thanks

I installed the bridge deck and motor well deck, as well as the seat upolstry, and the boat looks complete now. here are some pics.
Thanks for the help, I could not have done it with out you guys. Have a ball at the meet-up, wish I could be there, maybe next year
Jim

I ordered my windshield brackets from Lake Shore Aluminum Castings in Erie, Pa. This was how they came and then I had them chromed and they turned out great. They are the same bracket as Chris Atwoods.

Ted, do you still have the link for the company?

I know it's on the forum somewhere,but it's buried.

They make them once you order them so it takes about 3 weeks, they come in only one size rough cast and you will need to get them either polished or chromed then make a polycarbonate or glass windshield to the shape and size you desire.
They cost 100$ when i ordered mine. It seems like a small mom and pop company, they wouldnt take my CC to bill me when I ordered instead they just sent a bill 3 weeks later with the brackets and wanted me to send a check back, funny in todays world.

Same thing happened to me.. I thought they were out of business, but they called and said they were done and send them a check. I think the wait was at least three weeks.

Am starting to look for windshield brackets for my Key Largo. Wasn't aware that you could Chrome aluminum. How are they holding up in comparison to bronze so far??
