Are the flotation chambers in the power row skiff just air tight chambers? What are the access ports for, condensation release?Do some builders use the type of foam you pour in the cavity? How about just styrofoam cut to fit the chambers? Getting real close to start my build. Thanks.

Yes to all those questions.

Some members have experienced problems with foam in place tough with water getting under the foam and causing problems with the wood.

That said, I CHOSE to use my access hatches in the chambers to stow dock lines anchor lines etc....I'm sure it cuts down on the floatation, but it was my choice

You can also stuff the chambers through the hatches with empty plastic bottles

If you don't open the chambers when not using, they will collect condensation

I really appreciate the information, it all makes sense. There are some wooden boat kits out there that specify x number of liters of pourable foam for flotation,, that could be an accident waiting to happen. I like the idea of using the chambers for some storage, they would serve 2 purposes. Thank you, thank you for this information.
