It's killing me, but I've taken Chip's advice and am getting the bulkheads ship shape before putting on the sides. Here's my progress so far. I'm chomping at the bit to get the sides on, but can definitely see how having them off makes things a little easier.

Oh Yeah, blame me for your impatience.  But, you will see why I suggested this once the sides go on. It wouldn't hurt to box in the ends of the forward seats now too. Have you thought about adding a way for ventilation for them also? I installed the sides right after the bulkheads and soon realized I couldn't reach everything, so I had to climb in. :(
Gene,
Your little girl is a real cutie :D , keep up the good work,
Chip

I am planning on boxing in most of the seats before I attach the sides. I'm planning to put my batteries in the center seats (i'll need two for the motor I want to use) and have created a small pass-thru so I can run wires between the two seats. Once I glass and prime the inside of the pass-thru I'll create a small slope using wood flour and epoxy so that you don't trip on it.

I've been thinking about ventilation holes and where they should go. I don't think I'll put any on the center seats/bulkheads as I plan on having the seats on a hinge so I can access my batteries. Haven't quite decided on the rear seat/bulkhead. I've also seen where people prefer the seats to be watertight for flotation in case of an emergency. On the lakes we'll be going in we could probably just stand up if the boat sank in an emergency.

Finally able to start attaching the sides. Got the starboard side on and the transom. Still need to do a little sanding before the port side is stitched on this weekend. I'm pleased with the little pass-thru I created between the seats. There's a nice gradual slope which I hope will prevent my little girl from tripping on it.

Still thinking of way to hide wires and the steering cable between the seats and the rear seat. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I'd like it to be as unobtrusive as possible.

It's been awhile since I posted an update. Progress has been slow because of work and other obligations. I've just about got all my seems done. I'm becoming a little obsessive about sanding them smooth before I apply the fiberglass tape. I think I may have gone a little too thick with the bow seams. I am very happy with the outside of the bow though. I'll continue to plug ahead. I very much enjoy reading about every one else's progress on their boats. Makes me jealous I can't spend more time working on mine.

The wife and kiddo/captain were out of town this weekend. Got to spend all weekend working on the Tubby. Had so much fun I forgot to eat lunch on Saturday.

I'm at the stage where it really doesn't look like much progress has been made. Trust me...it has. All the seams are now glassed and an extra coat of epoxy over everything. I think I'm going a little too heavy on the epoxy, but figure it can't hurt anything other than my pockets. I'm just about through my second batch of the large cans (1.2 gallon). First batch was Glen-L's brand and the second was West Systems. Haven't noticed any difference other than West is a little more expensive. I have a West Marine 15 minutes away from me and couldn't stand the idea of waiting for shipping (Sorry Gayle).

She's coming along! Next up should be gluing the foredeck supports then stitching the bulwark.

Looking great, so clean and smooth!. Every time I read one of these Tubby Tug threads it makes me want to order some ply and get stuck in.

Can someone remind me which size plywood the Tubby Tug plans require for the foredeck? Can't remember if it's 3/8 or 1/4. Pretty sure it's 1/4. I'm at the office and my wife was kind enough to offer to pick it up for me this afternoon but I don't have the plans with me to tell her the size. Thanks!

Made some more progress on the tug this weekend. I've been working on getting the foredeck in place. I used oak 1x2's cut into three inch sections and secured them to the side to give the foredeck a place to rest. I also added a 1x2 down the middle to add extra strength. I haven't glued it all in place yet as I still need to add the bulwark and encapsulate some the foredeck itself. I like this stage better than the beginning as there is plenty for me to do while I am waiting on other stuff to dry.
