It is interesting you know how we develop perceptions of conditions.
I have just been going through some photos of our trim to the Great Barrier Reef of over a 1000 miles there and back and couldn't find one photo of the tender out in less than ideal conditions. Thinking seriously about it, generally the most care has to be taken then a big boat goes by and leaves a wash, which means we drive the tender with care.
What I really want to know is does the boat pound or make horrible noises in a wind chop and does water come over the bow or only in on the back seats?

Love your boat, by the way. I have been looking at all your photos.

Smoother water or speeds below 30 mph there is no pounding or noise to speak of. I have never had water over the bow. Occasionally spray that would have gone out from the bow might get blown in from a strong crosswind. Obviously it will never ride as smooth as a deep V in rough water, but at lower speeds the boat is very well mannered.

I've had my Zip out in sizable chop and the waves come in over the bow and the front seat occupants can get pretty wet.

The best part about a manual screwdriver is not needing to remember if you left it in reverse.

Completion is but one step in the process and not one bit more important than the others.

Thanks for that comment.
What I have decided to do is increase the freeboard by 4" and possibly fit a spray rail at the boot stripe angling any water down. Hopefully that will solve any minor issues. After that, well we just have to accept that we are on the water and will get wet from time to time.
Hopefully I will be starting construction within the next 2 weeks, at about my 63rd birthday. It will be interesting to see when it is finished.
I am sure I will have construction questions for the forum.

Have a great day
