Back to my Bingo . . . after 5 years

Postby markfsanderson » Sat Jul 19, 2014 12:25 pm

After surviving natural and personal disasters, and now living in the great city of San Antonio, Texas; I'm ready to re-start my Bingo build. The flood I went through destroyed the plans and some of the material, but most everything else survived ship shape. A quick question: When joining two pieces of plywood together using plywood butt block; should I first coat all the pieces with epoxy before doing the join? If not, which pieces (if any) should I coat? Any help for the newby would much appreciated!

:D Welcome back to building!!!

It is always good to coat both mating surfaces in any joint to prevent starving the joint of epoxy. Use only enough clamping force to hold the pieces together and not squeeze out all the glue.

So, I should scarf the joins, encapsulate the pieces and then glue the final joint?

Thanks Again!

Welcome back Mark. I'm up here in Austin and trying to get through my own Vera Cruise build. Looking forward to seeing some pictures.
