Bullet

Postby Sensless » Fri Nov 07, 2014 3:16 pm

Hi guys I'm completely new to boat building, I have a good knowledge and enjoy building small projects but never have I attempted a boat, I'm already set on building the Bullet (not sure which length yet) but I was just wondering what anyone else has for engine power and how heavy the engine is, of course then how fast it goes, I would like a bearing on how fast this has the potential to go without scaring the living daylights out of me. So I guess the question is, How fast does it go on flat water?

Cheers

A 12' boat with 40 hp would definitely go fast enough to scare me. I bet close to 40 mph or more. If you look at the photos of the bullet someone claims 40 mph with 28 hp. I'm sure it will be a super fun boat if you decide to do it.

I'm getting close to 35mph with a 30hp on a 550lbs flying saucer. The bullet will be a fair bit lighter then this. She will be very fast for a little boat with 40hp. I'm guessing 50mph wouldn't be out of the question.

Aristocraft Typhoon (12 foot version) with a 20hp Suzuki 4 stroke short shaft did 38mph with a full grown adult in it. Its a slender boat, but 200 pounds. The bottom says it all.

I know its not the answer to your question but gives you an idea.

Is the Bullet related to Swiztercrafts Bullet design?
