staining hull

Postby jeff k » Thu Feb 05, 2015 11:35 am

Hello all,
I have a question about staining wood on a squirt project. I know oil stains can cause problems with epoxy absorption into the wood. Would water based stains cause the same problems? If so, what have any of you used to stain the woods on the hull and topside prior to putting down the epoxy and matt.
This boat project is destroying my wallet, But it is enriching my soul.

Can someone please explain what CPES is? I see the term thrown around on the forums, but I'm unsure as to what this is.
