Tubby Tug Questions - Keel and Cover

Postby clarkins » Mon Jun 22, 2015 8:43 am

Hi All,

I am a newbie, and am working on a Tubby Tug for my 4 and 6 year old. I have two questions that I'm hoping someone can help with:

1.) Do I have to install a keel? I'm going to be using this on a medium-size lake in Northern Indiana, with a 2.5HP outboard. I'd really like to leave the keel off if possible to make for easier transportation and storage (flat-bottom)....

2.) Has anyone made a cover for their Tubby Tug or have any suggestions on ways to keep the water out on rainy days?

Thanks for your help!

Why not just put 2 smaller keels/skegs? It will then sit on a flat surface and allow air circulation under the boat.
