Finally verified my speed!

Postby Andy Garrett » Sun Jun 26, 2016 2:53 pm

Three seasons on the water and a few pacing attempts indicated something close to 30mph. I figured I was just hoping that was right.

Friday evening, Kaw Lake, Ponca City, Oklahoma, with three adults and a full cooler aboard, I made several passes on semi-smooth water (smooth for this region of the country) which were verified on two GPS units.

40 year old Merc 500 2-stroke
13 pitch 3-blade prop
34mph on every pass.

With a lighter load, I may get a bit more.

I'm pretty happy with that.
