CLASS J, AB or CD anyone??

Post by desmo » Mon Jan 02, 2017 3:40 pm

Hello everyone ! this is officially my first post.

I haven't found many build threads on the class race boats. Basically I have a evinrude 15hp and wanted something fast and small as my first build. something SID- Craft ish

Wondering if anyone could help with pics and info.

Those classes don't race anymore. That's probably why you don't see any builds on the forum. There's no reason you can't build one though. There are plenty of other designs in the catalog that would be suitable to use with your outboard as well.

I look at these boats often in the catalog. I recall when these were very active classes in my area. Grand Haven Michigan. It is were the longest River in the state hits Lake Michigan. We would go in the family boat and watch the races when I was a kid.

I have a 1995 Evinrude 15 that I bought and fixed up to use on a MINIMAX that I am taking years to build. The original MINIMAX plans call out a 15 hp as the max. This engine is 72 lbs. and I found a 12.5 pitch prop. I guess I need a fishing boat first.
