Re: Tucker's Squirt
So I received my seat cushions from affordableboatcushions.com and I am quite pleased! Also got the 5th coat of varnish on and will be the last coat for this summer since 90 degrees in my garage with a/c running makes it really difficulty to get a perfect varnish job. I will probably get it on the water early october and re-coat the varnish in the winter in my garage at about 60 degrees. I used captain's varnish 1015 and it was much easier to work with than the interlux two part I used for the inside of the boat. Everytime I walk past it I'm stunned at the sight!

Excelent Job! I can't wait to see it on the water. Good luck with the launch and maiden voyage.

Not to rain on the parade, but looking closer at the bow and stern eyes you used, there was another thread recently that discussed that these types of fittings can crack. Please keep an eye on them and perhaps use an extra strap across the boat to help keep it on the trailer. I have the same bow eye, and I'm looking at adding another safety strap when towing it.

Fantastic work!
Re: Tucker's Squirt
What is everyone doing to protect the bow on the trailer during travel? Being wood, I'm not sure how else to prevent this unwanted wear.

I put a piece of SS rub-rail down the stem. I also had a problem loading and unloading of rubbing on the trailer tearing the fiber glass. I re-glassed with Dynel and never had the problem again.

I immediately tossed the roller that came with my trailer and for this rubber Y block. It does tend to leave rubber on the boat but it wipes off.
