Bham, AL zip progress

Postby JasonQ » Fri Oct 06, 2017 7:23 pm

Hello everyone,

I haven't done a good job of updating my progress; however, I got my first two coats of Poxy Sheild on the hull and it is too pretty not to share. I love how the wood darkens and the grain pops out. Thank you all for your support thus far.

Happy boat building,
Jason

Jason, she looks great!

By the way, that's a nice, clean, and well-lit shop you've got there!

Wow your hull is way cleaner than mine! I have fairing compound all over the place. Feel free to continue to share your progress. We can all learn something.

This is awesome! Great progress. I'm also from Bham. Any recommendations on where you purchased your wood?

Thanks Micah. Yes, I actually just posted something on the wood supply forum. I have bought all of my wood for my frames from Woodcraft in Pelham; however, I recently found a place off Lakeshore called City Hardwoods and they are great. Plywood is more difficult to find around here, I had to order mine. I have some scrap 1/4 if you need it for your gussets. Let me know how I can help.

My bottom paint has been done for about 3 weeks now. I have a couple things to do to my trailer and then I will be ready to flip!

That’s sharp looking :!:

What’d you use for paint?

Jason

Looks great! Let me know when the flip is. My arm is not 100% yet. But, I'd love to come do what I can!

Thanks Josh! I just hope my boat ends up half as nice as yours.

283, I actually ended up using the interlux bright side. It is the same paint that Josh ⬆️ Used. I am no painting expert but it was really easy to use. Josh talks about it in one of his “building the zip” YouTube videos.

Thanks Bill. I will let you know.
