Building the Nimrod

Post by Croatia » Tue Apr 10, 2018 2:07 pm

Hello to all boatbuilders on this forum. I have bought plans for Nimrod before year ago. We started to built the boat three months ago. So far we finished the hull and flipp the boat. The boat has beautifull lines and has a sporty look :). We enjoy building the Nimrod. Ribs are made from oak and plywood that is used is mahogany sipo bought in Neetherland. The boat is for my friend and I hope he will enjoy with it. We bought for Nimrod Yamaha outboard motor 40/60 HETL. It is 60 hp motor.

I will post some photos :)

The post limit on pictures is based on file size. A 12 MP picture may limit you to 3 pictures per post. I usually limit my camera to about 6 MP and can post 5 or 6 pictures.

The boat is looking great!

Great job, the Nimrod is a nice design. It just has an unfortunate name.

Though a Nimrod in now a fool or a dolt, the original meaning was a skillful hunter. That is why the hunting club my dad belonged to was Nimrods 8. Eight guy who purchased land in NY state to hunt deer.

The boat is now in the finals :). Every day it looks nicer and I must say that the lines of the boat are perfect. I like it a lot :).
Our plan is that the boat will be finished in the summer, and then take it to the test ride in the Adriatic sea.

I will post more photos now.

Please comment do you like it or not ;)

You are doing a very fine job with your build. Thanks for keeping us updated on your progress.

What kind of wood did you use for your floorboards? And what is the thickness of the wood you used?

How cool is that! I'd have to swing by and check out the eastern coast of Italy!
