Hello all, As I understand the instructions, the 2 x 6 setup members can be any height from the floor as long as the distance from breast hook to that height ends up 21". I can't be on my knees too long after 40 yrs installing hardwood flooring. Any problems with stability building it higher? Has anyone found a good middle ground so one can reach the keel and still stand when working near the sheer? Thanks, Rick

Add some diagonals to the uprights to give you a little more stability if you want to go up significantly. Also you could use 2X8s. Just adjust for the extra width. Get everything set solidly on the floor, mark the floor with the location of your base board (I used a 2X12), plumb the uprights, and level the logitudinals of the form. You can add blocks below the breast hook, to compensate for the additional height, to attain the 21" measurement.
