Can try to peel it off.
Acetone BEFORE it cures does a great job.

I always wrap my tools in gladwrap (plastic sandwhich wrapping film). Works perfectly. As part of preperation to glue something I think about all the tools I might need and wrap those that I want to keep clean. I dont wrap my clamps, they have glue all over them, doesn't really cause any problem.

My door knob to my garage and the kitchen sink faucet still have a nice epoxy coating 3 years later. Wife loves it.

Melt it off with some heat and scrubbing.

if resin is not yet cured, plain vinegar cleans epoxy

If the tool is metal, you can use a heat gun (or a blowdryer with more time) to break the bond.

Mine are slathered with the stuff..., I love it! 8)

All of my C-clamps have epoxy on them, as do some of my hand tools, and there is also a nice "drip line" on the floor that represents the plan view of a Zip. I also have a shop apron that could probably stand up on its own, due to epoxy impregnation. I just don't see this as a problem.... :D
