( See BARRY, Tools?)

Henry,
One of the first tools to have, well, it's called "The Chair". This, The Chair, (cushioned is an option) should be placed about 10 feet from your biuld site. There, along side of this chair should be "The Cooler". In this, The Cooler, should be iced down BEER.

You will spend untold hours in this, The Chair, with Beer In Hand. ................ :)

As for your question; what type of tools do you have now? Clamps, well you will never have enough.

The CandC tool will be the most valuable. I finally purchased one myself, and it really works. I find that I spend an inordinate amount of time just contemplating what my next move will be, sometimes overthinking my next move, but with the CandC it is a real joy.

Steve

PS... CandC....Chair and Cooler. White plastic chair, and cooler full of Michelob Amber BOch...I may never finish this boat.

Question: Where can I post of picture of my tug when finished? It is not a Glen-L design even though I used mostly Glen-l materials and have squirt plans ready to go. Someon will have to tell me how to set up a personal web page, actually I think my son can do it for me when he is home for Christmas.

Henry, On a serious note:

Guys on the list have come up with home made clamps, make them from scrap plywood or PVC. You can never have too many clamps.

And you can do an amazing amount of work with a few tools. Hammers, levels, measuring tape, chalk line, sand paper, scrapers, hand saws. coping saw.

There is a list of tools in one of the Glen-l books. You can go from basic to top of the line, with every electric tool you can imagine. I prefer to get started and then buy them as I need them, I have even bought some I dont need.

Steve

PS...I am thinking of starting a "tools for oil" program. You might be in the right location to help me out !!

Try www.shareaproject.com . It appears to be free and all you need to do is add text and pictures.

Okay, now the trick is I have to buy a digital camera, I see how this works...get on a web site to build a boat, instead you buy tools after tools after tools, some epoxy and more tools and then some gadgets like new computer and digital camera...oh yeah...and there was this boat thing I wanted to build.

Leakcheck,

I think you just diagnosed my condition. :D :D

I have epoxy and fasteners sitting the garage. I have a bunch of frames waiting to be assembled, all the building form material sitting next to the frames, and my new router and random orbit sander (still unused).

I also recently bought a new Laptop. However, I do not have a digital camera yet, so I guess I cannot resume building my boat. :)

I have a couple pretty nice chairs I could choose from and even a fridge down in the basement but I think I will have a hard time trying to convince the significant other that I will have to start drinking again. But honey they say the beer is one of the main sets or cases  of tools needed... Oh well guess it worth a try!!!! but the beer might slow the project down on the other hand I have always heard you dont want to rush a good thing. Can you tell I am weighing the options 8) Hmmm beer... wife.... beer....beer....Michelob...nice cold Bud.... wife. I am about to get myself in trouble I better sign off now :(
I wonder how Iced Tea would do as a substitute for the beer. I think I better try that option

But it sure sounds like a good excuse and I have never used that one before
