I was using Google to try to find an electric rasp and hit on your Glen-L post about the subject. I looked up the boat you are building. Very nice. My wife Martha and I have a house and shop on Stuart Island, where we spend five months a year. We are building a Harry V. Sucher designed Skipjack, 26 x 6, very shallow draft. Plywood over fir frames. The design is from the 1950s. If you interested, you can go here:

Hello Peter,
What a great surprise, I'd love to have you come visit on your way up to Stuart Island and see my progress on my GL Hercules. It's called "festina lente".........that is, make haste slowly. We are located in Drew Harbour which is a marine park and has great anchorage.
I think its great how this forum puts people like me in far off places in touch with other builders who may be travelling this way.

I am presently constructing a Glen-L HERCULES, hull basically complete.Am going to fiberglass and paint bottom and then turn over. Sides to be planked with10mm yellow cedar edged bead and cove . Engine is Mitsubihi 4-cyl. 39 crankshaft hp.
