V-Drill GUide

Post by raymacke » Mon May 06, 2013 6:11 pm

My wife bought me one of these for Christmas but I hadn't used it much until lately.

I thought it a little pricy at about $25 but I have really come to appreciate it. Can't tell you how many times I just "knew" I could drill that hole at a perfect 90 degrees only to find my skill level did not match my confidence level - but I'm sure that never happens to any of you.

This is small enough to get odd places but does a great job of squaring up the drill. Works on flat surfaces as well as round ones. It also let you drill a 45 degree hole in an outside corner although I have yet to do it. Really nice when you can't take the item to the drill press but still need a straight hole.

That looks really handy, my eye is never as could as I expect...

Might have to drop some hints to the wife.
