sanding hulls

Postby markr » Mon Feb 24, 2014 6:47 pm

Does anybody have a recommendation for random orbital sander backing pad that works well for sanding contoured surfaces?
I have a 5" Porter-Cable ROS and my boat is a Glen-L La Chatte, a 16' catamaran.

I do all my rough sanding with a portable belt sander (carefully ).
After that the ROS. Go for the stick-on paper...it is available in rolls of 50 or 100, and is a lot cheaper than the hook and loop. They are available at most automotive supply stores, especially those who mix and sell paint.
