Great Misc Shop Tools

Post by Bill Edmundson » Tue Oct 07, 2014 11:56 am

These are two that I use a lot.

First: An 18 volt blower. It doesn't stir up a big cloud. You can sweep the driveway. It won't rake leaves.

Second: Little pink electric scissors. These are great for cutting glass fabric with one hand.

I have made extensive use of my electric blower during the fairing phase. I usually sweep up the big stuff or large quantities and then blow out the garage (wearing a dust mask of course).

Not a tool but what works great for small quantities of epoxy are the small Great Value plastic cups from WalMart. A package of 20 is like $1.50 or something like that. I get tongue depressor sticks by the box load (300 per box) in the crafts department and snip off the end with a scissors before mixing.

In the specialized tools area, the sliding and screw tightening clamps from Harbor Freight (at $3.00 a piece) are a real bargain. Decent quality.
