You don't have to worry about this nut trying to get in. I'm afraid you would put me to work. I plan on mounting my invasion at the boat ramp.

Now who could I give all that fuel to so I could get a boat ride.

Dave,
It just hit me when you posted on another thread about somebody else not having pictures. Your trailer must be done or you wouldn't be worried about backing it up your slope. Where are your pictures. :?: I know it's to late in the ballgame to mention this, but I thought of something else later on. Having the hinges on the top of your existing framing so the tongue would fold up. Then it would look factory.

I posted a pic on the may 8th blog entry. We used a slightly different swing away and mounted it directly on the cross member brace. I have 4" to spare in the garage. Now my issue is backing in my driveway. I am tight

Consider this: a little eye welded to the trailer frame below the boat cemterline at the aft end of the trailer, a hand truck with a hitchball on top and a winch mounted to the garage floor with cable run through a pulley to save space. Maybe a remote comtrol electric winch. Under supervision of the Admiral, Dave could draw the trailered boat into the garage while steering by the hand truck. Crank down the stand, swing away the tongue and voila! Going out should be easy. Rememer, I started out as a failed engineer.

Sounds very plausible. I have to do something for I cannot circle the truck and trailer into the garage. My drive comes into the garage apron at a 90 degree angle. The apron is only 35 ft deep with a truck and trailer at 45 ft so life is fun. I will have to back down, release and move the trailer in by hand.

But what a small price to pay

Dave,
You asked me earlier to leave you alone, but I refuse. :)
I knew a guy that had your same problem. To solve it he installed a ball on the front of his truck to get his boat in and out of his garage. It was amazing at how much control he had on the trailer this way.
