 I just got back from visit with the boss, she just might make it, they found out what is wrong and in the process of controlling it. She is suffering from congestive heart failure, and pulmonary hypertension. These was causing her kidneys to fail. They are still looking deeper into her problems. She has lost 50 pds water weight and still losing, she was the most coherent that I have seen her in the past year. And she is visibly getting smaller in size. she stated that if she had not when into hospital when she did she wouldn't have made it. She still isn't out of the woods but progressing positively. :D She thanks you all for your prayers and good wishes she was tickled to hear your response to her illness.

8) I ordered and received my copy of Inboard motor installation, having so much time on my hands and no shop.
I have been studying and I have pretty much decided to go i/o unit for power Donner boats in my area have been going cheap for years an allot of them are I/o units. With a military base close by people have to part with there toys quickly because most of the time they can't take them with them. The big question after reading my book is what size to go with.
Characteristics
Length overall 29'-0"
Length waterline 26'-3"
Beam 10'-2"
Hull draft (with skeg) 14"
Hull weight 2100 lbs.
Displacement 7310 lbs.
Height overall 10'-0"
Headroom 6'-3" to 6'-7"
Freeboard 3'-6"
Fuel capacity 100 gals.
Fresh water capacity 50 gals.
Sleeping accommodations 6

Hull type: Garvey hull with considerable dead-rise forward, developed for sheet plywood planking.
Power: Single or twin long shaft outboard motors, or stern mounted inboard outdrive units. Total engine weight not to exceed 850 lbs.
Can the hull be extended or shortened? No. We do not recommend increasing the beam.
there will be plenty of room in aft second other than engine the only other thing is 2 fuel tanks and water tanks according to the prints.
I don't necessarily want to go fast but would be nice to move along if one of the bad summer storms come up. But most times i will use the boat as a fishing platform or troll with it. From what I am reading the boat is a planning boat but I don't like the idea for my dishes and stuff getting bounced every wear. any Ideas on size to go with. a local dealer when I was thinking of using a outboard recommended a 90 hp.

You'll get a general idea of power required by looking at the Delta King Design Notes. It's the same hull type, but longer (33') and heavier (10,540 lbs.) :

A more accurate speed/power estimate for your displacement can be obtained by using Crouch's Planing Speed Formula. Here's a screenshot of a spreadsheet for increasing power levels :

Glen-L Marine wrote:
The speeds listed are approximate based on the listed displacement and will not be correct if the weight is increased. Speeds noted also assume that the propeller and reduction are matched to the engine being used. ... If a gasoline motor is rated as BHP, multiply by .70 to estimate the SHP.

Good luck with the donor search !

8)  Wish me luck trying to close a deal on a house that I can build my boat at. If things works out and after the move should have shop set up and continue my build. And may be I can get some sleep with out building it in my mind  Yes things are on up swing my lawyers are telling me things looks good to finally get my money I will know if I win or lose this next round in Sept. If do I will refile and continue on. My son is all for me building the boat even if I don't stay on it full time. He is worried about my heath and being out in the boonies out of medical reach with out him or somebody close to bad the great salt lake don't have fish in it I could live with in 2 mile of nearest hospital    8)

 the boss is a zombie these days she lives with her mother. they have her on so many pain pills and depression med she can hardly function she did realize she is alcoholic and quit drinking on the positive. She also developed congestive heart failure, and pulmonary hypertension and has been in and out of hospital my youngest son and I live together by our selves. I would have been living in the street if not for him he sure has been a blessing a hard working young man. things are looking up for me and turning around I knew it would eventually. 8)
