Designs for inboard or outboard power
It is quickly getting to be that time to build the transoms on my Huck Finn 20. As most of you know I am building a tri-toon configuration with an outboard motor mounted to the center pontoon. The plans do not detail this installation. What transom thickness is recommended for a 25-40 horsepower motor? I was thinking between 1 and 1 1/2 inches would do. Also, what type of reinforcing do I need between the transom and the sides? Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.
Pic is of the three completed stem assemblies. They have one coat of Poxy Shield on them. They will get an additional coat. Next; mounting one of them to the building form.
