Well it should be water worthy now that its externally sealed. Now to UV protect the Black Cherry Trim work, then prime and paint the ply. Hopefully while my little brother Urethanes the trim I'll get the inside ready to do.

Test coat of blue to see where I'm at in the blocking proces

Post by thinwater »

Pretty close, the white is still primer. Blue is one covering coat after a tack coat just to see where I'm at. Where I found I'm at is, feather the tape lines down, re-tape about a 16th off the old tape line and put a finish coat on it. I'm satisfied with the finish of the blue area (many times primed and wet blocked), and I'm going to semi gloss flatten the off white portion, which is showing in white primer in these shots. Interlux Brightside, primer, sapphire blue, and the trim is black cherry unstained just varnished with Helmsman UV protectant urethane.

Thanks again for all of your inspiration. The support of the forumn, and "The Gathering 2009" are mostly responsible for this happening.

Weighed in at 760 lbs bare hull, she should float and run shallow as intended with the 22' length and almost 6' beam! Woo hoo!

Did a leak test and checked that off. Powered up the river a little with the 6hp johnson trolling motor, draft was about 2.25" I believe that 10hp would've planned the boat out. I really liked it. Now to get the main power working and mount that trolling motor and get juice to it.
