Hi,
Was planning on painting bottom of belle today but spent an extra day on prep work..
Wet sanded hull to 600 grit (using an automotive paint, 600 grit is what manifacturer recomends)
Still have to mask up tomorrow and will paint Monday morning.....

Thanks Steve and Kurt,

Spent today sorting out the water line and masking up ready for paint in the morning...
9 coats in total..3 of basecoat..3 of top coat pearl white..and 3 coats of top coat clear...
Water line has a 1 inch pin stripe above it so took a bit of time to mask up...

That is going to look Great. The waterline is pretty easy on the sides and transom. But, when you roll under the chine, and you want that stripe to look even in profile, it gets tricky.

Hi,
Up early this morning and splashed some colour on the bottom....apart from the odd bug being entombed in the paint all went well and very happy with the result...going to let it set up for a day or two before I tape up for the sides

Tonight I taped up the bottom and the bootstripe ready for painting the sides in the morning..
So up at 4:30 am wipe the hull down with wax and grease remove while the compressor builds up air..
Gun is clean and tested air pressures and paint mixing pots ready..will post pics tomorrow...
Cant wait to see the colour on the sides....
