Jaime,

I'm really liking what you did with the trim pieces. That is one of the things that is so great about this forum. We get to see what ideas other's have and learn better ways to do things. The Belle is looking just great. Really top notch. It's so exciting when something like this comes together. It might not seem like much to someone looking at this from the outside, but the sum of all these nice little touches really adds up to an outstanding finish.

Very nice work Jaime! Excellent craftsmanship. May have to consider doing the same on my Monaco when I get that far! Skip

Carl,

This is already a borrowed idea from Alan Close in Australia who put the same type of edge trim around the cockpits on his Monaco, the moment i saw them i liked the idea 1. They finish the edge off nicely.
2. Very durable in the sense that if someone was to put there foot or sit on the edge they are not going to damage the timber as opposed to vinyl. (No offence i love the look of the padded edge also).
3. Water is not going to run along the deck and in between the edge of seat.

Jenko has also done this on his Riviera.

Hi all,

Have finished the installation of the cockpit edge trimming on the weekend. (Out of epoxy again so need another kit to continue).

I am happy with the result, still need to round the edges over and complete the sanding of trims, then i have lots more sanding in prep for the stain.

Cant wait to get some colour on the cover boards and epoxy the top deck.

Photos show the trim being glued and the rough sand.

Couple more pictures with some bling on the top deck, trying to figure out the final positioning so I can drill some more holes.

G/Day Jamie i was going through your thread again and you used Aqua timber were did you get this, the reason is i was going to use Sapelle but it is to hard and to heavy and very dense the Sapelle will not contour and will split even staples will not go through, Mahogany is getting hard to get i will be using the Sapelle on the deck ....John

HI Jenko,

No updates i am afraid, Life has indeed gotten in the way. My two youngest girls are up me to finish but work keeps me away from home lately and I am about to be shipped to Port Headland WA to work on a 3 week on 1 off roster for the next 6-12 months!

Wife and I have been working on our fitness and health for the last 4 months which takes up a fair bit of time also, but with young ones and with getting older i think it is very important and we have made some big changes in the way we do things.

Hope all is well for everyone and I still lurk on the forum to keep updated.
