In my world, steel is merely another material, like wood, just a few different tools to work it, with a few different techniques.
(and a bit more patience!)

Just returned last night from a two week trip to Michigan, where I was fortunate to be part of the 37th annual Les Cheneaux Islands boat show. Over 150 boats in the water. Lotza fun. Some absolutely stunning boats. Many old, some new.

I got an issue of Woody Boater with many pictures form this event. I didn't see yours in there, but I think the looks of your boat easily surpasses many of the boats I did see there. I love the older woodies, but I am also quite fond of the efforts of our local builders here on the forum. Great pictures. The bimini adds a lot of class to an already classy boat. Thanks for posting.

I made a pattern out of cardboard and transferred it to a piece of 14 ga (maybe 16, can't remember)mirrored stainless steel. Tacked it together, making sure the bow angle (left, right) was maintained.

BuildFan here from BuildThreads, Inc.

Congrats and nice work, Trisailor - this build thread was chosen as a Best Build Thread pick for this week. Image

What this means is that a bunch of guys who like to build stuff (cars, trucks, 4x4s, bikes, cabins, boats, planes, and garages) and have read a ton of build threads, thought that this build thread makes a valuable contribution to online DIY culture.

So, without further ado:

BuildThreads, Inc------ well. thank you. The boat is being used a lot. Already in year four! Enjoyed the build and now am enjoying the fruits of the labor.Just got back from a trip to Walloon Lake, Michigan. Here are a couple of pics of the boat with the Mackinac Bridge in the background and in the water at Walloon. I built the little paddleboat for the grandkids.
