Looks great!

Did you cover what/how you made the ring somewhere?

Got my box of wire from Greg's. Thanks for the suggestions. This is a good forum. Box of hoses arrived from Basic Power Industries. good size selection. good prices. Puzzle pieces are falling into place. The instrument ring was plasma cut from a piece of 3/8" SS plate, using a plywood template. Then ground roughly (depressed center wheel and flapwheels) with a 4 1/2" angle grinder. Outside contours on a disc sander. Inside contours on a spindle sander. Then final contour stuff with a 2" angle grinder, followed by DA orbital sanding. When all the little scratches were gone, I took it to the buffing wheel and shined it up.It took a while, but I really like the results. I was first going to cast a brass oval and machine that, then plate it, but I'm happy I just did it in stainless.

working on the forward compartment ceiling and fitting some of the hoses in the main cockpit (yes, the REAL exhaust will be actually be copper, not white pvc). also installing the bilge pumps. I lifted off the whole back deck area. really makes it easy to access all those spaces. I think I'm going to make it permanently removable. I think the 35 or 40 screws in the clamp rail will hold everything together sufficiently.

That is going to be a great dash. I never knew that you could make that with a drill and a dowel.

You can also use a pencil with a new eraser & compound to make smaller circles for small panels.

I'd have to find one of those big fat kindergarten pencils! these were 7/8" circles.

I used black colorant and Cabosil thickened epoxy (not glass beads as that makes for a less strong mixture)

Looking really good...Yep, Greg's is the best pricing I've found for wire. FYI, I also picked up some marine heat shrink from Harbor Freight when it was on sale...I think I went through a whole box of the stuff. I cut each 3" piece in thirds because you really only need about an inch of the stuff on 16 guage wire. I know you can buy ring shank terminals with heat shrink already on the barrel but, hey, I got a little cheap. I bought a 200 pack of standard ring shanks from Attwoods (they are still tin coated), pulled the plastic barrel off, slid on some heat shrink, crimped, and shrunk the heat shrink. I think I spent a total of about $14 on ring terminals and heat shrink for the whole boat. The main battery feeds to the motor were the expensive ones at $1 each (x4).

Hey Dean,,, I was just looking at your pictures to see how you started the interior framing and I saw the bilge blower hose running on top of the stb exhaust hose. I think we talked about the blower setup at some point, but could you refresh my memory? How many and where? How will you set up the hoses? Sorry, but I just can't figure out the right way to do it !!! Thanks,,,,Neel
