I am still working on the boat. I thought when you finished construction launch was right around the corner. Not true with an electric boat. Over in electrical having fun. Should have it all completed by next Friday if all goes well.

I had no trouble with Florida Vessel Registration. The name and numbers are now the hull so she is taking on a personality.

Launch window is now looking like sometime in August.
The cushions are being measured tomorrow.

Well Mike and I are almost there.
You can never build a boat like this without a close network of friends.

We spent all day Saturday working on the last part of the electrical only to discover that we were having low voltage feedbact to the controller. So back to Bob at EVA. We hope to have the problem solved this week and competed.

Plans are to have the final trailer adjustments this Firday.
Cushions should be done this Friday also.
Launch "Aye Doc" this Saturday morning to start the motor for lake trials.

Almost there and still having fun.

Launch went well the boat floats.

We are going to modify the trailer significantly over the next three weeks. (More about that in later posts when completed) Alan, Jeff, Mary & grandchildren (older daughrter) were on the scene to launch the first time. Looked great. It was level port to starbord and bow to stern could not look better. The Glen L design of the Lo Volt is fantastic.

Paul is working on the cushions. Great guy and quite a craftsman in his own right. One thing I found fun when building Aye Dock. The opportunity to meet new friends and appreciate the talents of others. I could not have done it without friends and others I had the privledge to meet during the adventure. Many people had a hand in the construction of Aye Dock. I have a feeling it will be an on going adventure. One of the most fun things I have done in a long time.

Paul made a custom jig to make sure the curve of the cushions matched the chine angles of the boat. Will be complete tomorrw so you will the the results of his labor.

Tried to launch but had trouble with what we think is the controller. Will be talking to Bob and EVA and moving ahead from there.

I am sure this must be the first time a boat of this type has been built,.

Paul ran into a small problem with the cushions with the taper so should have them done Monday.

Having fun and hoping for a launch Labor Day.

Resolving the problem with the trailer today. Jeff Dorber from Continental trailer had modifications prefabricated to retrofit the trailer to work better. Does it EVER. AYE DOCK foats off the trailer like a cork and slides onto or should I say into the trailer with a glove fit. I made some comments on the design in the Trailer Forum. Anyway the trailer is GREAT! If you have a boat like this one and need a custom trailer he has it down. 5176 126th Ave. Clearwater, FL 33760. Tel 800-=842-4164. Jeff built the trailer back in December when we flipped the boat and came back to finish the job now. jdtrailerguy@aol.com

Electrical should be working tomorrow and the cushions look great.

Wanted to let everyone know that AYE DOCK did laucnh and performed beyond expectations on Labor Day.

The speed was clocked on a GPS at 11 mph max speed. The motor when running at 1/2 throttle was moving the Launch at about 8 mph. With the throttle at 1/8 to 1/4 the Launch was morving right along with only the noise of water gurggling around the hull.

Will seat 6 with no trouable at all.

Stops on a dime. Has a forward turning radius of about 30 to 50 feet. The reverse turning radius about 20 to 30 feet.

We ran the motor for 4 hours straight between full and half speed after breaking in the system the first day at less than half throttle. The voltage meter indicated we use about 1/2 the charge in 4 hours running between 6 and 10 MPH.

As we use the boat over the next few weeks I will try and place some video on U TUBE, more statistics and pictures.

Thanks to Glen-L for a fantastic Launch.

Diane on AYE DOCK for the fist time.
