SeaPea. Let me give you a little hint that will save you some aggravation down the road. I established a center line on my table. Using the plans I located the corners of each frame member on my table using this same centerline, marked and numbered them accordingly. I then established the common floor gusset location and clamped a block to the tablel marking that location. I remeasured, remeasured, cross checked and verified this block was square to the centerline. IT MUST BE perfectly square. Then as I assembled the frames to the corners, I simply pushed the floor gusset up the block. While it took a couple of hours to lay this all out on the table, it saved me a lot of time later and guaranteed that all my frame members matched perfectly where they are supposed to be. Remember, any error in frame will telegraph all the way thru the hull and show in the finished product so take your time and get this perfect.

Thanks Dave.

You can't see it from the pic, there is centre line and cross reference with the frame outline traced from the plan. I see what you mean about being spot on - I'll add in the extra checks you suggest.

Thanks heaps,

Craig.

I know it's not much in the grand scheme of things, but the first frame finished gives me a good idea of the size and shape....

Now THAT is funny!!! I don't know if it was in the blog but definitely in the archive. and YOU KNOW I had plastic on top of my plans as I laid out the transom frame using the plans for reference.

I wish the forum had a "Like" button.

Fantastic picture.

(Just don't get epoxy on your keyboard)

The transom and frames are looking great.

The transom is slowly taking shape.....sums up the boat building for me so far - one step at a time and it takes shape!
