Hello all, been lurking here for months and have purchased many study plans, I just want to say how comfortable I am here reading everyones posts (seems like one big happy family), Hoping to start something by this spring, which brings me to the question of building the Bandido, The study plans say this can be strip planked, so my question is, Is this strip planked like the Potluck, or does the strip plank method refer to a different method of cold molding?

Once again, I enjoy being part of the Glen L crowd and hope to get something going soon.

I believe they really mean for it to be constructed as a cold-molded design. Check out this link for some Bandido construction photos: http://boatbuilders.glen-l.com/bandido-design/?album=75&gallery=378

Oh, and welcome aboard!

Thanks Bill,

That is what I thought as well, I have been researching this for about 6 mos, but on the study plan it states "strip planked, cold molded or fiberglass". I was just curious as to the method of strip planking it referred to. Oh by the way, Beautiful boat. - Scott

You are welcome Scott! Several of the designs can be built in different ways...the study plans probably don't give you all of the info but rather just show you the options. Their books, like Boat Building with Plywood, go into more detail. The complete plans will also have much more information.

Thanks again Bill

Have the books, read, re-read, and probably will read again. LOL. Am going to have to pull the trigger soon. My Gf keeps laughing at me about all the books I have, I probably buy a new one every week.
