GLUE TESTS ARE FINISHED
Titebond: Excellent adhesion under dry and normal circumstances. Neither superior nor inferior to marine epoxy in any way. Stronger than the wood itself. Totally failed the boil test. Under totally submerged conditions for three days (non boiling water), the bond broke at the seam after being blasted with a hammer. I was able to scrape away the glue with my fingernail. My guess is that it if is wet for a period of time, then allowed to dry again, the lusage would be fine. However if it is constantly wet, it has the life span of a wasp. . Most likely this glue will be satisfactory for above deck construction if it is topcoated with something like epoxy or fiberglass, or at the very least, a good marine paint.
MARINE EPOXY: Excellent adhesion under dry and normal circumstances. Neither superior nor inferior to Titebond. Epoxy also totally failed the boil test, but some of the epoxy still hung on to the wood. Epoxy passed the three day submersion test, and was still stronger than the wood itself upon a very extensive beating with a hammer. It seems that even under pretty severe waterlogged conditions, epoxy is the best choice here by far.
. In conclusion I will be using marine epoxy for most everything, except perhaps some above deck woodworking. I am not at all looking forward to the extra cost. I believe that with the proper screws, and marine epoxy, you really cant go wrong. I wish to thank everyone who participated in this thread. It has been a blast!

 i am not likely to boil my boat unless I go to some of the lakes in Yellowstone but if the water I hot enough to boil it won't matter any way it means the supper volcano is going to blow and it won't mater the only salt water around here is the great salt lake and no chance of me putting my boat on it no fish  i will stick with what our resident marine designers have found to work. even though i have a west system store close buy i have always bought from glen-l.

Because of my allergic reaction to epoxy I have been forced to sometimes seek alternatives but I sure won't argue with the above statement. In my book epoxy is the best all around adhesive for boat building, plus it is so darn versatile! You can use it as a glue, as a filler, leave it thin, make it thicker, apply fiberglass cloth, encapsulate and ...........................

Please though, do take precautions when handing it. Keep it off bare skin and try to minimize breathing the fumes with plenty of ventilation and or an organic fumes respirator. Trust me, you don't really realize how good the stuff is until you can't use it!

According to their information Teciglue CA "resin" is solvent free but from what I have read it is not the resin that causes the problem but the hardner. Reading the Material Safety Data Sheet about their hardner it states, "Causes respiratory tract irritation. May cause skin
sensitization." Also, under the Toxicological Information it states, "Acute dermal irritation/corrosion: Moderate skin irritation. Sensitization : May cause sensitization by skin contact. Sensitization has occurred in laboratory animals after repeated exposures."

So not sure if it would help me or not but it may be "less" toxic to my system than some of the others. BUT I also did not find it available in the USA although it seems popular in Australia.
