This is too cool. I really hope this works out and I am looking forward to following this build.

I had wanted to use an outdrive on my Vera Cruise build but decided against it primarily because of the weight limitations of 700 pounds. I could still go this route since I haven't completed my transom yet. Looking at your solution and Bob Smith's epiphany solution gives me pause to reconsider.

Thanks Carl!

Now working on tieing the transom blank into the top board? Will need to be a LAM but can make a 4' ply work. So I can get the transom blank out of one 4'x8' 1/2" ply. With the blank I have,I made 2 inserts. This would tie the transom too the motor stringers and the sides of the boat. Oh and the bottom with the keel boards.

When you get this worked out, you should draw up plans and offer them for sale. I think the general idea might be adaptable to other runabout designs.

I'm going a little slow. Worked on some filler for the wings. The wings will need a lot of sanding! The transom blank and wings will take the place of the (4-4) 1"x deck lam.

Also need some input from the Gentry builders. Is the out side board on a angle or does it need to be vertical ? Put some red lines on a photo. Lucky its not Mahogany . Just pine for the test fit.

Not quite sure what you mean by "out side board", but the transom is vertical (90 deg to the keel), and straight in the vertical plane, only curved in the horizontal plane.

Cool. Yep straight in the vertical direction and 90 degrees to the keel.

Thanks much! It just did not look right. I may have the transom angle out a bit? Back to checking. Have a good day! Now that is funny. Think its more like Gogday?
