Jeff

I'll bet your wife has a punch list for you, too.

Beautiful work Jeff. I just love curves in interior work. It really makes the boat look elegant.

Bill, thank you for thinking about us.

We are very lucky. While we had flooding all around us, we personally did not experience any flooding. A few of our relatives have experienced flooding, but are either insured or the damage is not too extreme.

But this is certainly a catastrophic event in the sense that massive amounts of property have been damaged or lost. Generally, here in South Louisiana most people who are in the 100 year floodplain expect that at some point their property may flood and thus, they carry flood insurance. But with this event, flooding occurred in numerous areas that were not expected to ever flood; so, we have a lot of people who've honestly lost their homes, cars, furniture, etc. with no insurance to offset it.

My office building is located in a professional office park well above floodplain. I don't carry flood insurance nor do I expect any of the other building owners do. As you can see, we were all within a few inches of taking in water. So much for the government flood projections.

Glad to hear you just sneaked by without damage Jeff. I can't imagine what those who were not as lucky and without insurance are feeling.

Thanks for the kind words and concern.

Roberta, I put the plug in just in case. I would have hated for the boat to sink in my garage.

Chris, I heard you dodged a disaster yourself.

Yeah we had 4 tornadoes touch down in our area Monday. Closest was just over 3 miles away. Not the closest I've had one come but close enough.

Two scary things. Floods and tornadoes.

This has been a long project, too long, close to five years; but alas, a light at the end of the tunnel, the decking has began.

While there's still plenty to do on my boat before final completion (swim deck, cutwater, more upholstery, and loads of fit and finish); I launched and took it out for sea trials today. I could not have been happier or more satisfied as to how it went. Youtube videos below.
