Any advise for installing shear on 19ft Tahoe.

Made it through chine logs and bottom battens. Scratching my head on how shear and shear clamps are installed.

I know there's a bit of a size difference but on my Squirt I went this route:

- Cut the sheer into 2 pieces to be laminated
- Soaked both pieces in a PVC pipe with water for a day (I just soaked the length that was making the bend)
- Starting at the breast hook, I made the bend using clamps every 5" or so for support, and ran the sheer to the transom
- Pre-drilled holes while the 1st sheer was still clamped on
- Let sit until the wood dried and then did the real thing by epoxying the sheer and using the pre-drilled screw holes and clamps for support
- Repeated the process with the second sheer lamination

Are you planning to do multiple laminations for the sheer or just steam one piece?

Andy

The sheers on the Tahoe are heavy. They're made up of at least 4 pieces. You will probably have to steam/hot bend them each one at a time.
