Engine mock up

Postby Jimbob » Sat Sep 10, 2016 5:22 pm

I wanted to make a mockup for the engine i am getting for proper placement of things and to make sure things fit.

I got drawings from Michigan motors with dimensions on them. Took the drawings to kinko's had them enlarge to full size. Cut out and glued to corrugated plastic board, and stapled to an mdf box for support. Took less than an hour including the box.

It Worked!

Jim

That is exactly what I did. I didn't have to go to Kinko. I was working then and had access to a large format printer.

Good decision. Now you can be certain that the motor will fit and get an idea where the mounts will be located.

Nice work... and a good tool to boot.
Won't be long (well geologically speaking) before a printed hollow 3D model will be doable and affordable.
