Weight of a finished Gentry

Postby slug » Tue May 23, 2017 7:48 am

Just in case anybody is wondering, I just had the Gentry weighed. Loaded with 15 Imp. gallons fuel, life jackets, fenders, lines, total weight is 2266 lbs.

Nope! Does not include trailer. I have a 351W Ford which is I think slightly heavier than the small block Chevy, but the weight came out very close to what I "guessed". The aluminum Edelbrock manifold cut off quite a bit of weight but brought other problems with it.

Doug

That sounds about right. My 20-6 Tahoe 19 trailers at 3000#. My engine is 650#. My aluminum trailer is 675#. Diesel fuel 26 gal. is about 200#. I put a bunch of stuff in the boat going to the Gathering.

This is great info for people planning their trailer or tow vehicle.

I'm also guessing your WOT is right at 50 MPH.

Bill; Have actually had the boat in the water last Monday ( a week ago ) but never off the trailer! We wereable to run the engine in, but every launch facility neare Lake Ontario is UNDER water. The lake is th highest its ever been and we're waiting for a chance to sea trial .
