Fast Sissy Do
One of the builder's of the Sissy Do with a 1990s Evinrude 15 mentioned being able to hit 30 mph on flat water. There is a picture of the motor and I have the same thing (1995). There is no mention of the prop. Mine motor will push a beat up lone star 14 at 21 mph with a beat up 10 pitch prop. I also own an unused factory 12.5 pitch prop. Does anyone have any experience with a Sissy Do that may indicate what speed may be possible?
Re: Fast Sissy Do
I really dont doubt that claim. I had a super light weight Glen-L Utility 11 ft with an 8hp mercury 2 stroke. It was a very light boat with no fiberglass but it hit 26.2 mph with that 8 hp mercury and 10P prop. So I could see a Sissy Do hitting 30 on 15 hp if built light and propped high.
I would expect a Sissy Do with your same motor is capable to do a couple mph more than your 14ft aluminum boat. These Glen-L boats tend to really scoot.

Wow, 26 mph on 8hp! I bought the 15hp (measured at the prop) to run on a MINIMAX that I am building. I will look up the 11 foot utility. Sounds like an interesting boat.
