Just need a bit of room!
Thanks in advance!

The (*) in the description tells me an option to stretch it is included in the plans.
I would get the study plans for the $15 and read through that.
or, call Glen-L
Oak is over rated, everything about it takes extra time; then it warps, splits or checks !!!

Lengthen Carolina Angler

Does one GAIN (any performance) from lengthening a boat-any reasons to do it other than deck space and interior room?

Don't mean to be dumb here...

In simple physics of it all, it takes less power to push length, than it does width.
The better seakeeping is that of long narrow hull.
The better economics of fuel consumption is long narrow hull.

Just because you take a given design and stretch it, it doesnt use less fuel, but the end result would be a boat more efficient than that of a short wide beam of equal weight and horsepower.
You will gain stability and some load carrying, because you got a bigger boat.
