Hi all,

Waiting on plans to begin the journey of building the Squirt.

Any initial advice that I should know before digging in?

Thanks

Read "Boatbuilding with Plywood" if you haven't already.

Yep, read the book like Matt "Hoodman" said and stretch the boat the full %10. Send pics of your progress.

Definitely get the Glen L book, and read any other boat building book you can find... All are helpful.
And remember, the only bad questions are the ones that don't get asked. We're all here to help. Post pictures of your progress and remember to have fun!

Better to ask a bad question than to fix screw-ups!

We'll help with both.

Plan ahead. Get a idea of how you're going to finish things, as that might impact your early work. The BOM listed will get you to the flip, so you will need more epoxy and supplies than you think, so don't worry about ordering extras.

Keep working on it, even if it is just sanding for 15 minutes here and there. Finally, have fun and take your time. Hopefully, you'll have the boat much longer than it takes to build, so spending some extra time in the shop to build it right will worth it when you're finally on the water.

Good luck,
