Performance report on trim tabs:
I had a problem last year with my Malahini not performing well.
With four people in the boat, she had a hard time getting on plane and no matter the load, porpoising.
So, I bought trim tabs. What a difference. Now I have very little bow rise, with or without passengers, and absolutely no porpoising. Ver happy with these tabs.

Your boat looks fantastic. My Malahini had the same issue when the boat was heavily loaded, porpoising at higher speeds. I’m Mixing discussion from my performance thread now, if your tabs are giving off spray in the wake I would suggest moving the resistance cylinder to the least downward force.
With the tabs I can trim the motor up until the boat is riding on top of the water. WOT rpm rises 400 rpm as I trim up. Fun stuff!

Glad the trim tabs are working well. Start with the least downward force setting and if you still have issues (e.g. porpoising), move it to the next notch until the issues go away. She is looking great.

So I was up at torch lake this week. The young owner of the cabin had this boat stored in his garage.
His grandfather ordered it new from Chris craft in 1943, but because of the war, he couldn’t get it until 1945. At which time the used a 6 cyl, dual plug, gas engine, out of a Higgins landing craft.
It was completely restored about 10 years ago and is in pristine condition, except the front oil seal is leaking.
The coolest thing is, it’s been at torch lake MI since it’s purchase and is still owned by the grandson who lives in the family cottage there.

Dry weight of my Malahini:
Last ride for the season in Michigan (October 19, 2020. 55degrees out).
I weighed my trailer with and without my truck. It was 6000lbs With the truck. 460 with just the trailer.
Then my truck with the trailer and boat; 7,380lbs Then just the trailer and boat; 1700lbs. There was a difference of 140lbs.
So without the engine (250lbs) the boat weighed appx. 1000lbs+ (With the battery and maybe 4 gallons of gas and some stuff under the bow).
