Question about this build pic

Below is a picture from Guy Young's Malahini build in the customer photos. He seems to be doing a superb job! When he attached the plywood to the side as shown below, it looks like small square wood pieces with each fastener. Is this because he plans to remove the fasteners and fill in the holes? And he is butt blocking the sides right? I read another thread that its best to butt block but not on a frame but in between. Is this right?

:D Thats exactly right. From what I've read so far fastening this way also helps if you dont have as many clamps as you would like, :roll: and who does :?: :D Never place the butt block at a frame junction, weak joint and leaks will follow, I have seen a build that did this, by the second season he had to go back and replank the boat. :cry:
