Need Help with ID'ing a Boat

Post by SlugMule » Mon Feb 04, 2019 12:42 pm

Hello all and thank you in advance for any responses. I recently bought a project boat that is titled as a special construction. The previous owner had the boat for about 5 years and had no useful history on the original design or builder. I am hoping someone may spot something on it that could give me a lead...

Its a 30 ft commercial, glass over ply and the vibe I get is it was a home build. I can only assume it was used for either crab, lobster or possibly urchin. I searched the CF# and found it was previously named "Veteran" but that's about the extent of information I can dig up. Really hope someone out there may recognize a kit /design that the builder may have worked off of or really any clue pointing me in the right direction.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

It doesn't look like one of ours unless the builder modified it quite a bit...

The deadrise, shearline, and proportions kinda looks like a modified version of a Carolina-type sportfish design. Is it framed? ...probably cold molded?

This boat looks a bit like yours http://www.bruce-roberts.com/public/HTML/MARLIN-28.htm
