That inboard could also be the source of hot water for cabin heat & an aux coil in the water heater. Have not ever seen this done with an outboard

I really like that idea about an aux coil in the water heater utilizing the engine. Set it up like a heater core in a car. Having hot water for a shower without having to run a generator will be helpful when and if we get to do our Mn. to Mobile cruise in a few years. I actually purchased a heater for the boat Friday. I came across a 1950's Jackes Evan Hearth-glo gas heater in excellent condition at a yard sale. I paid $10 for it. The on off valve will need to be placed but the burner and bricks are in great shape. Seeing as how I want the interior to be sort of art deco, this fits the bill perfectly.
