Outrage question

Post by Ga-Steve » Mon May 06, 2019 4:24 pm

I am having issues while mocking up my chine log and frame 5. The board shown in the 2nd pic is just a mock up board that I used while scarfing boards for the actual chine just to get an idea of how it will look. The plans say the bottom planking is to be fastened to the bottom battens and not the frame members. But the plans have a notch for the batten on frame 5 which will be almost touching the frame at frame 5. Looks like I’ll have to fair the forward edge of the frame so when fairing the stem, the bottom planking won’t touch the frame. Does this look right or can you see anything I might have done wrong? There are limited construction pics of the Outrage to look at. The 1st pic is one I found that was on the web. Thanks for any help, Steve

It's normal to have the fair the forward edge of a frame in that area.
