Squirt updates - where is that topic now?
Posted: Fri Dec 26, 2008 1:14 pm
There was a topic named "Squirt Updates" that was a 39 page "bible" about building the Squirt.
I have searched every possible way, but can't find it anymore. Is the topic gone, and can we please get it back, maybe as a "sticky" topic?

I think the thread you are referring to is in the Small outboard section:

No, it is not that subject.
Here is an old posting by Graham:
Graham Knight wrote:Lots of us have built Squirts, it's a very easy first boat.
Have you checked the Project Registry and Customer Photos sections? There are loads of examples there.
And have you noticed that in the Power Boats section of this forum there's a thread called Squirt Updates that runs to 39 pages!
If I remember correct there where 3-4 builders updating the same thread, and I think Graham and an Irish gentleman where two off them.
I manage to find another thread where the "Squirt updates" are mentioned:
When I follow the link I get a message that it don't exist.
When I first started my Squirt-build this thread was both an inspiration and a very good guide for most of my questions.
I hope you can bring it back to the forum. There must be a backup or something where you can do a search.

Roy,the link Gayle gave IS the 13 page Squirt guide topic thing!

Yes, I know Gayle pointed at the "new" 13 page thread in the small Outbords forum started by Hakanzorlu in 2006, what I am looking for is the old 39 page "Squirt Updates" thread that was in the Power Boat forum. It was started before we had a Small outboard forum, probably around 2003-2004.
That thread have loads of info about the Squirt. It has existed, I have read it dozens of times, many skilled Squirt builders refer to it in postings, I just cant find it anymore.
We are talking about two different threads, belive me...

Roy is right. I remember that post very well. It was back in 2002/03 but when the forum got hacked and crashed, that thread was among the many that got lost. We basically had to start all over. If you'll notice that a number of the longer time members here have join dates of from September to December in 2003. That's because we all had to REJOIN and start again.

Upspirate, nothing to be sorry about, It was an old thread and Dave gave us the reason why all the new members haven't seen it. To bad, it was so much usefull information in that thread. Lost in cyberspace.....

Isn't there some kind of web site out there that you can go back to deleted or old sites that you can't normally pull up?

Why YES. It's www.inyourdreams.com
Ok Warren, I couldn't resist picking on you there. LOL

Dave that site didn't pull up anything specific...or was it a joke? I wasn't joking....there was an archive site .

Yes, I was joking. inyourdreams ... in your dreams?
You and I keep picking on each other cause if we didn't, the other would take it personally.
All kidding aside, if there really is an archive site, my goodness, they would have to have a tremendous amount of space to archive the entire web, wouldn't they?
