Hi John R
Yes I glassed everything including the deck. The only lace the weave shows is where I overlapped the cloth on the deck. I did something wrong there. Not sure what happened. Where I overlapped the cloth on the sides it does not show. I used 4 oz for everything. If I were doing it again I would use 6 oz at least on the bottom.

I used 7 ounce on the bottom and 4 ounce on my transom. In both cases, the weave completely disappeared. The real issue with epoxy isn't so much the weave as it is getting the epoxy smooth enough. I added an extra layer of epoxy when filling the weave as I will give the boat one more smooth sanding. On the transom (the only brightwork on the hull ) I plan on overcoating with clear polyurethane which I am hopefully will lay on much smoother.

I top coated sides and deck with clear coat sanded and buffed. You'll want a pretty smooth surface to put the clear over. Otherwise any defects will show. Don't wait too long after application to buff. It gets really hard.

Was looking at building one of these, what is the width of a Monte Carlo when built?

It's looking good John!

Zed, just in case John doesn't see this right away, if they are built per the plan, the beam is 7'6".
